Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 21, 2026
1. The Short Version
PedalPlayers doesn’t use cookies. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies, no session cookies. When you visit the site, nothing is stored on your device. This page explains the few details worth knowing beyond that.
2. Analytics
We use privacy-focused, self-hosted analytics (currently Umami, hosted on our VPS with Hostinger) to understand how people use the site.
This system:
- Does not use cookies or store anything on your device
- Is completely anonymous. We cannot identify individual visitors
- Collects no personal data
- Shows us only aggregate patterns like page views and referral sources
This is GDPR-compliant by design, since no personal data is collected or processed.
3. YouTube Embeds
The one exception to our cookie-free approach is embedded YouTube videos. We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which works like this:
- Before you click: The video displays with a privacy overlay. No cookies are set, no data is sent to YouTube.
- After you click play: YouTube may set cookies and collect data according to its own privacy policy. This only happens when you actively choose to play a video.
- If you’d rather not: You can read everything on the site without ever triggering YouTube cookies. Just don’t click play.
If your browser blocks third-party cookies, YouTube embeds won’t set cookies even after you click play.
4. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and first name through our email service provider. This is the only personal data PedalPlayers holds. It has nothing to do with cookies, but since this document covers data collection, it’s worth mentioning here. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
5. Your Rights
Since the only personal data we hold is newsletter subscription details (email and first name), your GDPR rights are straightforward:
- Access: You can ask what data we hold about you.
- Correction: You can ask us to update or correct your details.
- Deletion: You can ask us to delete your data, or unsubscribe at any time.
- Portability: You can request your data in a transferable format.
- Objection: You can object to how we process your data.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below. If you have a complaint about how we handle your data, we’d like to hear from you directly. But you also have the right to submit a complaint to your local data protection authority.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
